On 25th  February 2011 the 5th ODF Plugfest took place in the Royal Borough of WIndsor and Maidenhead. One of the attendees Fabrice Mous came over from the Netherlands to take part in the event.  While he actively particpiated in the odf plugfest he also took time out to interview some of the key attendees at the event and has been kindly agreed to let us post the interview he did with Mark Taylor.

Last year, Sirius constructed a dedicated Customer Service Centre from which to run our operations. We are pleased to report that this is now complete and since February of this year, the Sirius NOC (Network Operations Centre) has been running round-the-clock.

It's going to be a very busy year for Sirius. With new clients and partnerships coming on board, we're expanding! We've been hiring for our Weybridge office as we now offer 24/7 support coverage from our NOC. But there is more. We're going to be hiring even more people as we're opening a new office in the coming months in Bristol. Rivermead House will continue as our Head Office and NOC centre but we want to ensure we have a presence across the UK to better serve our customer base.

Yesterday was a great day in for us  – our first new partner for 2011 was announced. Many people in the UK and in the international Open Source Community will be familiar with Simon Phipps , and his new work with new company ForgeRock. We are very happy to say that  we are ForgeRock’s first full UK partner.

Sirius are very happy to announce their involvement in organising the ODF Plugfest here in the UK. What does ODF stand for? Open Document format, which is a XML-based file format for office applications. Officially the "OpenDocument Format for Office Applications," OpenDocument is supported in OpenOffice 2.0, StarOffice 8 and other word processors and text-based applications.
