Becta (formerly known as the British Educational Communications and Technology Agency) is a Non-Departmental Public Body of the Department for Children, Schools and Families in the UK. Becta is the Government's lead agency for information and communications technology (ICT) in education, covering the United Kingdom. It was established in 1998 through the reconstitution of the National Council for Educational Technology (NCET). In its capacity it oversees the procurement of all ICT equipment and e-learning strategy for schools.
Sirius is the UK's only Becta supplier of Open Source-based ICT solutions to schools, colleges and local authorities.
Catalist (formerly GCat) is a framework agreement with 25 of the UK's leading I.T. suppliers, negotiated on the Public Sector's behalf by OGCbuying.solutions, an Agency of the Office of government Commerce.
Sirius is an authorised sub-contractor of Catalist.
The Confederation of British Industry (CBI) is a pressure group and a lobbying organisation for British business owners. Approximately 80% of the FTSE 100 and nearly half of the FTSE 350 are members of the CBI.

Debian is a free operating system known for its adherence to the Unix and free software philosophies, and for its abundance of options - the current release includes over eighteen thousand software packages for eleven computer architectures.
Debian is the basis for several other distributions, including Ubuntu, and is known especially for its strict policies regarding its packages and the quality of its releases. These practices afford easy upgrades between releases and easy automated installation and removal of packages.

Drupal is a software project that makes it easy for website administrators and website users to publish content (web pages, books, blogs, forums) to the web. Website administrators use Drupal to customise their website through a configurable user interface, the ability to extend the website with modules, and an extensible framework design. Drupal provides "plumbing for communities" which allows for community participation, including user generated content. This website is built using Drupal. The Drupal Association, for which we are members, is a not-for-profit association registered in Belgium. Its purpose is to provide support to the Drupal project.

KDE (K Desktop Environment) is a free desktop environment and development platform built with Trolltech's Qt toolkit. It runs on most Unix and Unix-like systems, such as Linux, BSD, AIX, Unixware, OpenServer and Solaris.
While developers and users are located all over the world, the project retains a strong base in Germany and is managed by KDE e.V, a non-profit organisation.
As well as working closely with KDE e.V in the SQO-OSS project, Sirius is a corporate supporter of their work.
PostgreSQL is a powerful, open source object-relational database system. It has more than 15 years of active development and a proven architecture that has earned it a strong reputation for reliability, data integrity, and correctness. PostGIS adds support for geographic objects to the PostgreSQL.
